The Rebate Program
The purpose of the rebate program is to directly aid the AE customer by offering
cash rebates for specific energy improvements. The program also encourages the
reduction of overall electric consumption through the use and application of the
city's guidelines on size and efficiency of air conditioning systems. Studies
have shown that most dwellings ten years old or older can reduce electrical
consumption by as much as one-third through higher efficiency air conditioning
and heating equipment and full weatherization.
The process begins with a call to Strand Brothers to arrange an estimate and a
home energy audit. At the estimate appointment the customer will receive a
written proposal on equipment and weatherization services and an estimate on the
actual amount of the rebate. The estimate on the equipment and the rebate
incentives are as exact as possible, but the amounts must be verified by a city
inspector. The minimum rebate amount is $75 and the actual rebate check goes
directly to the customer. Strand Brothers will apply for the rebate for the
customer.
