Here’s What to Do When Your Furnace Won’t Ignite
We are making our way through the last few weeks of winter but we still need our furnaces, especially during frigid nights. Not much is worse than turning in at night just to find out your furnace won’t kick on. If your furnace won’t turn on, here are a few things you can check yourself before calling Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning.
Check Air Filters
You should swap out standard air filters monthly. If you fail to do so, they can end up clogged, blocking air flow and resulting in a furnace malfunction.
Check Your Thermostat
Try turning the temperature up a few degrees to get the furnace to kick on. If the actual room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the heating system won’t turn on. Also, make sure the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem obvious, but verify the power switch next to the heating system is “On.” Even gas heating systems use electricity so verify the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch wasn’t accidently flipped to the “Off” position.
If you check all these things and your heating equipment will still not kick on, give Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning a call at 954-736-4314 and we’ll come out and get you taken care of as soon as possible.
